In Loving Memory

Robert J Kelly
May 10, 1973 — September 10, 2026
It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert J. Kelly, who left us on September 10, 2026. Born on May 10, 1973, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert was a cherished member of our family and community, known for his vibrant spirit and unwavering love for those around him.
Robert was a devoted son to the late James and Alfreda Kelly and a beloved brother to the late Buddy Kelly and Le’Bradon Kelly. Though his parents and siblings have passed on, Robert's legacy continues through his surviving children: Robert J. Kelly, Quantez Kelly, Genain Kelly, Courtney Kelly, Shaniqua Kelly, Daija Kelly, Bryson Kelly, Anthony Kelly, and Alana Kelly. As a proud grandfather, he leaves behind 16 adoring grandchildren who will forever hold his memory dear.
Educated at Robert A. Taft High School, Robert was an enthusiastic athlete, playing both basketball and football. His love for sports was matched only by his passion for music and the joy of family gatherings. After graduating, Robert embarked on a career navigating the rivers as a barge driver for five years. Later, he found fulfillment driving for Uber and Lyft, where he relished meeting new people and sharing his infectious laughter.
Robert's life was characterized by his humor and warmth. He had an uncanny ability to bring smiles to those around him, often playing the role of the family jokester. His love for music, long walks with his dogs, and time spent with his grandchildren were among his greatest joys.
In his personal life, Robert was married to Bridget Moore from February 5, 1990, until their amicable separation on December 18, 2016. Despite the end of their marriage, Robert remained a devoted father and grandfather, cherishing every moment with his family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at University Hospital for their compassionate care during Robert’s final days. Their dedication and kindness provided comfort during a challenging time.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Robert’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.
Robert J. Kelly will be remembered for his love, laughter, and light. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
