In Loving Memory
Robert J. Folliard
July 31, 1948 — May 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert J. Folliard, affectionately known as Bob, on May 27, 2026. Bob left this world surrounded by the love of his cherished family at Blue Water Hospice Home, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service.
Born on July 31, 1948, in Englewood, NJ, Bob was the beloved son of the late Samuel and Kathleen Folliard. He grew up alongside his siblings, and though he is predeceased by his parents, brother Dennis (fondly nicknamed Hairy), sister Kathy, and brother John, his memory and spirit live on through the lives he touched.
Bob was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Colette, with whom he celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage. Their journey together began on September 28, 1974, in the Base Chapel at Selfridge ANGB, Mt Clemens, MI. Together, they crafted a life filled with unwavering love and happiness, raising two children, Amanda (Bill) and Bobby (Shelia), and welcoming a grandchild into their care, forming a family foundation that will endure through the generations.
A proud graduate of Kingswood Regional High School, Class of 1967, Bob followed a path of service to his country. From 1968 to 1974, he served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. His service included a notable two-year station in Okinawa, where he honed his skills and forged lasting friendships.
Bob's career as a building custodian at UAW Local 228 was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic. Beyond his professional life, Bob had a zest for life that was reflected in his hobbies. He was an avid collector of antique radios, a passion that connected him to history and nostalgia. Bob also found joy and peace in tending his yard, where he created a sanctuary of beauty and tranquility.
Known for his quirky sense of humor and a warm smile that could brighten any room, Bob had a unique ability to make those around him feel special and valued. His infectious laughter and gentle spirit were a testament to his kind and generous nature.
Bob's legacy flourishes through his surviving family: his wife Colette, his children, Amanda and Bobby, his adored grandchildren, Lance Corporal Will Quain, Peyton Quain, Michelle Folliard, and Cody Brast, and his precious great-granddaughter, AdaLynn Rose. He is also survived by his loving siblings, brothers Jeffrey and Joel Folliard, and sister Janet Folliard, who will continue to honor his memory.
The Folliard family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Blue Water Hospice Home for the tender care and support they provided during Bob's final moments.
In remembrance of Bob's life, a celebration will be held to honor the joy and love he shared with all who knew him. Details of the service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Bob's memory. His spirit will forever be a guiding light to those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Rest in peace, dear Bob, as you join your beloved family members who have gone before you. You will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
