March 9, 1949 — June 27, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Robert Harvey Beyer. Robert peacefully departed this world on June 27, 2026, at Emplify Health in La Crosse, Wisconsin, surrounded by the love and warmth of his cherished family. Born on March 9, 1949, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Robert was the treasured son of the late Harvey G. Beyer and Evelyn M. (Marshall) Beyer. He grew up in a family that valued kindness and humor, qualities that Robert embodied throughout his life. Robert's journey began in the halls of Onalaska High School, where he graduated in 1967. Shortly thereafter, his sense of duty and patriotism led him to serve his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. This period of service was a testament to his strength, courage, and unwavering commitment to his nation. Upon returning to civilian life, Robert dedicated himself to a long and fulfilling career at Home Depot, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and genuine desire to help others. His colleagues and customers alike appreciated his warm smile and knack for bringing a bit of joy into everyday interactions. A proud member of the American Legion, Robert carried his patriotic spirit into his personal life. He was an ardent fan of the Green Bay Packers, often found wearing his beloved Packer gear, especially on game days. His love for sports extended beyond football, as he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and deer hunting. An avid outdoorsman, Robert found solace in fishing, yard work, and feeding birds and other wildlife. Robert's passions were as varied as they were vibrant. He delighted in the simple pleasures of life, such as savoring ice cream, chocolate chip date cake, and potato chips. Known for his love of dancing and laughter, he was a people person through and through, always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. Above all, Robert's greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his children, Heather Beyer (Rob), Cathleen Beyer, and David Beyer, as well as his brother Richard Beyer (Judy), sisters Donna Benson and Patty Houser (Paul). His memory will be cherished by his three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Robert is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, his sister Debra Bugby and brother-in-law Jerry Bugby, brother-in-law Dennis Benson, and his beloved son Michael Beyer. His family takes comfort in knowing they are together again. In honor of Robert's life, a private funeral ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Legion or the Humane Society, causes close to Robert's heart. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate care teams at Mulder Health Care Facility, Tomah Nursing and Rehab Center, and Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center (Emplify) for their exceptional support and kindness during Robert's final days. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we remember him for his warmth, his laughter, and the joy he brought into our lives. Robert Harvey Beyer will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
