In Loving Memory

Robert Grendon
July 21, 2001 — July 29, 2026
Robert Grendon, a cherished soul whose laughter and resilience could light up any room, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with sudden onset sepsis. Born on July 21, 2001, in Finglas, Dublin, Robert's life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and remarkable achievements.
Robert was the beloved son of Christopher and Orla Grendon and was deeply adored by his partner, Saoirse Wale. His life's journey was shared with many dear friends, including Ronan, Sean (affectionately known as Lil' Red), and Sean Hand, all of whom preceded him in death, along with his faithful canine companion, Percy.
A proud graduate of Belvedere College in 2020, Robert was a man of many talents and interests. He was an avid hunter, a gifted sculptor, and had a flair for public speaking that captivated audiences. Those who knew Robert will fondly remember his jolly round appearance and his unyielding perseverance in overcoming the challenges posed by his height. His fondness for enjoying a pint with good company was a testament to his love for life and camaraderie.
The community is invited to celebrate Robert's life at a service to be held on August 7, 2026, at 12:45 PM at Our Lady of Dolours, located on Botanic Rd, Botanic, Dublin 9, Ireland. Family, friends, and all those touched by Robert's presence are welcome to join in remembrance of his vibrant spirit.
In Robert's memory, the family kindly suggests donations be made to the New Israel Fund, based in Washington, DC, US, an organization that aligns with his values and hopes for a better world. The family also wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the Irish Hospice Foundation, whose compassionate care provided comfort to Robert in his final days.
Robert's legacy of love, talent, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. As we bid farewell to a wonderful soul, we hold on to the cherished memories that will continue to inspire and uplift us.
