Robert Gerald Lamback

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Gerald Lamback, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Robert, known affectionately as Gerry to those who knew him well, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, in his 80th year. Born on February 12, 1946, in Augusta, Georgia, to Mildred and Vincent Lamback, Gerry's life was one of service, dedication, and love. He was predeceased by his parents and his dear brother, Frank Vincent Lamback II. He is survived by his cherished wife of 30 years, Debi Lamback, and his sons, Brain and Josh. Gerry also leaves behind his loving sister, Beth Benners, and brother-in-law, Bill Benners, as well as his grandchildren, Joey and Parker, his great-grandchild, Oliver, his nephew, Brad Benners, and his niece, Bree Thomas. He will be deeply missed by his close friend, Robert Ballard. Gerry's journey in education began at Lake Worth High, culminating in his pursuit of mechanical engineering at the University of Tennessee. His passion for engineering led to a distinguished career of over 35 years with Pratt and Whitney aircraft and Belcan, where he designed jet engines. He proudly serviced his country in the United States Air Force. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gerry was an active and dedicated member of his community. He contributed his time to the Lake Worth Jaycees, the Stuart Rd and Reel Club, and the disaster relief team at St. Mark's Methodist Church, where he tirelessly helped rebuild homes for those in need. His generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand touched many lives. An avid fisherman and boat captain, Gerry's heart belonged to the water with a fishing pole in his hand. Whether fishing, boating, or indulging in his love for chocolate, he embraced life with enthusiasm and a warm spirit. His devotion to the Tennessee Volunteers was rivaled only by the pride he took in wearing their colors. Gerry's kindness, wisdom, and knowledge were hallmarks of his character, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know him. His family finds solace in the loving memories they shared and the lessons he imparted through his actions. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Parkinson's Franklin Tennessee, honoring Gerry's legacy and his battle with the disease. Robert's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and condolences during this difficult time. They take comfort in knowing that he will remain forever in their hearts, a guiding light and cherished memory.
