Robert Francis Jacobs
July 19, 1949 — April 23, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert Francis Jacobs, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Robert left this world on April 23, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by the love of his family.
Robert was born on July 19, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Ulysses and Ida Mae Jacobs. From a young age, he exhibited a vibrant spirit and an unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, Texas, in 1967, marking the beginning of a journey filled with purpose and service.
In 1968, Robert answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps. His military service, which spanned from 1968 to 1975, was marked by commitment and honor, reflecting the principles he held throughout his life.
On March 18, 1972, in Inglewood, California, Robert married the love of his life, Linda C. Jacobs. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and mutual respect. Together, they built a nurturing home filled with warmth and laughter, raising three wonderful children: Kimberly, Karen, and Keith. Robert's role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and he was the steadfast anchor that kept his family united.
After serving in the military, Robert dedicated 30 years of his professional life to the United States Post Office, where he was known for his diligence and integrity. Beyond his career, Robert's life was a testament to his faith. In 1976, he recognized his spiritual need and dedicated his life to Jehovah through water baptism. His commitment led him to become an elder in 1984, where he shared his wisdom and compassion with his spiritual community.
Robert's joy was amplified in the presence of his four grandchildren—Asher, Ashanti, Armani, and Brandon Jr.—and his two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Cataleya. He relished every moment spent with them, imparting lessons of love, strength, and resilience.
A man of varied interests, Robert found joy in football, music, and the art of cooking and BBQing. His gatherings were a celebration of life, filled with laughter, delicious aromas, and the warmth of family and friends.
Robert's legacy is one of love and strength. He was the glue that held his family together, the gentle guide through life's storms, and the embodiment of kindness and devotion. His brothers, sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews, along with countless friends, will forever cherish his memory.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Robert's life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM. As we gather to remember him, we find solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's name to a charity of your choice, extending his legacy of kindness and service to others.
Robert Francis Jacobs will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire and nurture us all. May he rest in peace, enveloped in the love he so generously shared throughout his life.
