May 6, 1966 — October 5, 2026

Robert Fitzgerald Hood, 60, Blacklick, OH passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2026 at his home. He was born on May 6th, 1966 in Columbus Ohio. He married the love of his life, Laura (Churchill); and, although married for 33 years, they built a home filled with laughter and countless memories for 41 years. He was a proud and devoted father to his daughter, Ashley. He was also a doting “Pawpaw” to his two grandchildren Ava and Jayce. Outside of his work and family, he was passionate about hunting, fishing and cheering for his only team, The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved his collection of video consoles and games. Robert is survived by his wife Laura, his daughter, Ashley (Bobb) and his grandchildren Ava and Jayce; Sister, Gretchen (Roosevelt); brother-in-law Scott (Nanci); sister-in-law Catherine (Davy). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and extended family members. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Robert J. and Donna (Evans). As they grieve this tremendous loss, Rob’s family has chosen not to hold an in-person memorial service. Instead, they would love to hear from the family and friends whose lives Rob touched. They invite you to share your favorite memories, stories, photos, or words of love and encouragement so they can read and reflect on them privately in the weeks ahead. Rob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. While we wish we had more time with him, we find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. We hope the memories and stories shared by those who knew him will bring his family comfort and remind them of just how much he meant to so many people. Thank you for helping us surround Rob’s family with love during this difficult time. Afterglow I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, To dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
