In Loving Memory

Robert Eugene Watson
September 11, 1947 — March 12, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert Eugene Watson, affectionately known as "Bob" or "Bobby" to those who cherished him. Born on September 11, 1947, in Charleston, West Virginia, Bob peacefully departed this world on March 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Bob was the beloved son of Carl and Elaine Watson, who predeceased him, along with his devoted wife of 41 years, Brenda Watson, siblings Carl, Tommy, and Mary Watson, and his cherished daughter, Corey Watson. His surviving family includes his children: Robert "Robbie" Watson Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Charlene Egans and her husband Thomas, Monique Watson, and Anthony Watson. Bob is also survived by his brothers Bill Watson (Barbara) and Jim Watson, as well as his precious grandchildren Tene Brown, Soleil, Robbie, Randy, and Selah Watson, and his great-grandson, Jackson. His extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews, among them Ace, whom Bob affectionately regarded as his adoptive nephew.
After graduating from Dunbar High School, Bob served his country with honor and dignity in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974. He then dedicated 28 years to Falcon Lock, where he worked as a plant supervisor before retiring in 2002. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his dedication to his faith and family.
In 1985, alongside his beloved wife Brenda, Bob dedicated his life to serving Jehovah God, a commitment that would shape the remainder of his days. They served together in the ministry, helping others find hope and peace in their faith. This devotion continued into Bob's retirement, where he spent his time ministering and pioneering, finding joy in sharing his faith with others.
Bob was a man who truly cherished the company of family and friends, finding his greatest joy in bringing people together. Whether it was hosting lively parties, family gatherings, or game-day celebrations, Bob's presence was a beacon of warmth and joy. He was rarely seen without Brenda by his side, and together they created countless memories filled with laughter, love, and his famous "Bob-B-Que." Known for his storytelling, humor, and ability to make everyone feel welcome, Bob's gatherings were a testament to his generous spirit and loving heart.
A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on April 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 2103 Boykin Rd, Augusta, GA 30906. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available via Zoom (Meeting ID: 88534579987, Passcode: 740170). The service, lovingly chaired by Leroy Seabrook, will feature Song 140, "Life Without End At Last," an obituary reading and memorial talk by Leroy Seabrook, concluding with Song 151, "He Will Call," and a closing prayer.
The Watson family wishes to extend their deepest and most sincere gratitude to everyone who has reached out with a comforting word during this difficult time. Your kindness, love, and support have brought us strength and peace as we honor the life and memory of our beloved Robert "Bob" Watson.
Though Bob's physical presence will be deeply missed, he will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of faith, family, and friendship will continue to inspire and comfort us as we carry his memory forward. In the words of a heartfelt family prayer, "No matter where life takes us, you’re with us—always. And though you’re gone, your love remains. It lives in the way we face challenges, in the lessons you taught us, and in the quiet strength we find when we need it most. Thank you for being our dad—for giving us a love that endures, even in absence."
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time. As we remember Robert Eugene Watson, your support has brought us comfort. We are deeply grateful for your presence and love.
