ROBERT EARL "PEANUT" BUIE

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Earl "Peanut" Buie, who left this world peacefully on September 6, 2026, after bravely battling a long-time illness. Born on June 11, 1964, in Monroe, Louisiana, Robert was a beacon of love, strength, and resilience to all who knew him. Robert was the beloved son of the late Charlie James Buie and Ollie Lee Buie. He was predeceased by his father and his dear brother, Edward Buie. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness, cherished by his surviving family, including his devoted wife, Renee Andrews Buie, and his children, Rachelle Nabors, Sherrion King, and Robert Washington. Robert's life was further enriched by his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his days. Educated in the Houston public school system, Robert was known for his generous spirit and infectious laughter. His siblings, Eugene Buie, Charles Ray Buie (Pat), Terry Lynn Buie (Angela), and his sister Bernadette Buie, remember him as a loving brother whose warmth touched everyone he met. Robert's extended family includes his cherished aunts Ellen Berry, Janet McMillan, and Marjorie Buie, as well as his uncles Leroy Swayzer (Georgia) and George Swayzer. His sisters-in-law Gale Smith (New Orleans, LA), Crystal Andrews (Lufkin, TX), and brother-in-law Jeral Smith (Lake Elsinore, CA) also held a special place in his heart. Robert's life was graced by the presence of close friends, including Mrs. Jessie and his favorite barber, Keory Andrews, who stood by him through thick and thin. A man of many interests, Robert's hobbies reflected his zest for life and his ability to find joy in the simple things. He was a man known for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering support for those he loved. His family and friends will forever remember him for his caring nature and the joy he brought into their lives. A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Skipper Lee and Sons Eternal Rest Funeral Home, located at 4610 Southwayside Drive, Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Robert's giving spirit. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the hospital for their compassionate care and support during Robert's final days. Though he may no longer be with us, Robert's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
