Robert David Lundy

Robert David Lundy, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2026, in Visalia, California at the age of 79. He was born on July 18, 1947, in Palos Park, Illinois, Robert's life was a testament to love, dedication, and joy. Robert was the beloved son of John and Florence Lundy, who predeceased him; along with his brother Joe Lundy, and his dear wife, Sharon Lundy. Robert and Sharon shared a beautiful partnership, they were high school sweehearts and married on July 1, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. Their 56 years together were filled with unwavering love and happiness, during which they raised three wonderful children: Dawn Lundy, Rene' Bagley, and Brian Lundy. Robert was also the proud grandfather of Mya and Logan Bagley, who brought immense joy to his life. An alumnus of Thornton High School, Robert furthered his education at St. Joseph's College in Chicago, earning a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Theology. His professional journey was marked by success and leadership in the automotive battery manufacturing industry, where he became a general manager at the young age of 28. Robert's career spanned over 25 years in this field, followed by another 15 years in various manufacturing businesses before his well-deserved retirement. Robert was a man of many passions, including golfing, dogs, keno, swimming, vacationing as well as listening to Elvis and the Phantom of the Opera. However, nothing brought him greater delight than spending time with his cherished grandchildren, Mya and Logan. His warmth, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. In honoring Robert’s life and legacy, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in lieu of flowers. Robert's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. A Celebration of Life is still TBD and will be updated when the date is confirmed.
