December 26, 1947 — March 27, 2026

Robert Charles Juengel, a man whose life was a tapestry of kindness, wisdom, and warmth, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 27, 2026, at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cardiac issues. Born on December 26, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, Robert's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those he cherished. Robert was the beloved son of Charles John Juengel and Leila Juengel, both of whom preceded him in death, as did his sister Ellen (Juengel) Tritch. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Joyce Juengel, whom he married on August 19, 1972. Together, they built a life rich in love and raised two wonderful sons, Russell Juengel and Joshua Juengel, who, along with his wife Aimee Winegerter, carry forward Robert’s legacy of kindness and integrity. Educated at Hazelwood High School, class of 1966, Robert went on to earn his degree at the University of Missouri St. Louis before obtaining a Master's degree from Maryville University in 2007. His academic pursuits were complemented by his service in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country. Professionally, Robert spent 14 years as an Autoparts Salesman before following his passion for education. He returned to school to pursue an Economics degree and subsequently became a certified teacher. For 25 years, Robert was a beloved educator at Fort Zumwalt High School, where he inspired countless students before retiring in 2012. His commitment to community extended beyond the classroom; for 29 years, he brought joy to families as a cherished Santa Claus, embodying the spirit of giving and joy. Robert was known far and wide for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a jovial or sarcastic remark that brought laughter and joy to those around him. His ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued was one of his most treasured qualities. His kindness and selflessness never wavered, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In addition to his immediate family, Robert is survived by his sister, Janet (Juengel) Weinberg, and cousins Louise Phillips First, John Phillips (and wife Vicki), William (and wife Connie) Juengel, Barb (and husband Ron) Peters, and Susan (and husband Steve) Lindemann. Each of them held a special place in his heart and shared in the many joyful moments of his life. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Wentzville Christian Church, located at 1507 Highway Z, Wentzville, MO 63385. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, filled with love and laughter. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Shriner's Hospital or to the Wentzville Christian Church Building Fund, causes that were close to Robert’s heart and reflect his enduring legacy of compassion and community. Robert Charles Juengel touched the lives of many and his memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
