We gather in spirit to honor the life of Robert "Bobby" Chavez, who passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026. Born on August 21, 1945, in the charming town of Grand Junction, Colorado, Bobby was a beacon of strength and warmth, and he left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Bobby was the beloved son of Ramon and Beatrice Valdez Chavez. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Chavez and Joseph Valdez, his sister Celia Villegas, cherished daughters Francis and Pricilla, and stepsons Tony and Johnny Higareda. He is survived by his daughter Tanya Bolser, his son Robert J. Chavez Jr., his granddaughters Precious, Tiffany M.. his brothers Ronnie Chavez, Manuel Meastas, Brent Bell, and Peter Jones. His sisters Kathy Murphy and Tammy Curtis also hold him dear in their hearts.
Bobby's life was one of dedication and perseverance. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School, where he not only excelled academically but also lettered in wrestling, taking an impressive fourth place in the state. His career at Millers Meat in Logan, Utah, was marked by hard work and commitment, ultimately leading to his retirement.
A devoted Christian, Bobby's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and a heart that was always open to giving. In his neighborhood enclave, Bobby was a constant source of support and assistance, lending a helping hand to all who needed it. His greatest joy was spending time with his son, Robert Jr., with whom he shared a close and enduring bond.
Bobby's life was enriched by his marriages to Angelia Barba and later to Irene Zamora, who predeceased him. Throughout his life, Bobby demonstrated resilience, love, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate hospice staff who provided comfort and support during Bobby's final days. In keeping with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. A celebration of life and burial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Bobby's memory, as a testament to his generous spirit.
Bobby's legacy is one of love, laughter, and kindness. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
