In Loving Memory

Robert "Bob" Cordell Garrett
March 27, 1970 — March 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Cordell Garrett, who departed this world peacefully on March 7, 2026. Born on March 27, 1970, in Dayton, Ohio, Bob left us just shy of his 56th birthday. He was a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend, whose vibrant spirit and joyful laughter will be forever missed.
Bob was the beloved son of Jeffrey and Linda Garrett, who nurtured his love for the outdoors and creativity from an early age. He grew up in a home filled with warmth and laughter, shared with his brother, Jeffrey Garrett Jr. (Jennifer). His grandparents, Mary and Clurie Garrett, and his aunt, Susan Blaylock, who predeceased him, were influential figures in his life, and he carried their memories close to his heart. Bob also shared a special bond with his step-mother, Sharon Johns, who also preceded him in death.
A proud resident of Dayton, Bob’s life was a tapestry of love, humor, and adventure. He spent countless hours on his boat, casting lines and capturing the serenity of nature through both his fishing pole and his remarkable artistry. His paintings, brimming with color and life, were expressions of his appreciation for the world around him. Those who knew Bob will remember his infectious sense of humor, which brought light and laughter to every gathering.
Bob's family was the center of his universe. He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Rick, and their children, Felicia, Kayla, and Nathaniel, who were his pride and joy. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in them. His loyal companion, Toto, his beloved dog, was ever by his side, sharing in life’s adventures.
In addition to his immediate family, Bob leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who adored their uncle’s playful spirit and gentle kindness. His circle of friends, who were like family, will forever cherish the memories and moments spent together.
In honoring Bob's life, we invite all who knew him to share their cherished memories. His family treasures each story as a reflection of the love and joy Bob brought into the world. As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember the laughter, the art, the fishing trips, and the moments of quiet joy in nature that Bob so loved.
Though he is no longer with us, Bob’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. May we carry his laughter forward, keeping his memory alive in our stories and in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend a day outdoors in Bob’s honor, casting a line or painting a sunset, remembering him in the way he would have loved.
Rest peacefully, dear Bob. Your light continues to shine brightly in our lives, and your legacy of love and laughter will never fade.
