Robert Blanco

Robert Blanco, born September 19, 1939, in the warm embrace of Calexico, California, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at the age of 86. He succumbed to a cardio-respiratory arrest complicated by septic shock and pneumonia. Robert Blanco sadly passed away at Queen of the Valley Hospital in La Puente. Ca around 8:26 pm Robert was the cherished son of Leon Blanco and Teresa Precie. He was preceded in death by his beloved family members: Thelma Blanco, Ernest Blanco, Dewan Jackson, Leonard Blanco, Theresa Precie, and Leon Blanco and son Johnny Rambish. Their memories remained a guiding light in his life, a testament to the deep love that bound them together. Robert's legacy of love and strength continues through his surviving family: his children Tammy, David, and Johnny, and his 8 grandchildren—Serena Rambish, Lionel Rambish, Ariel Rambish, Brianna Rambish, Oscar Cardiff, David Jr. Cardiff, and Gino Cardiff. He was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren: Evan, Lea, Layona, Aracely, Aiden, Serenity, Ashton, Andy, Christian, Castiel, Lyla, Caspian, Mylie, and phoenix who were a great source of joy and pride. An industrious spirit, Robert was a high school graduate who found his calling in various professions. He dedicated 30 years of his life as a drywall foreman in construction. His versatility was further evident in his roles as a barber and a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas, California. Each career path was marked by his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. Robert's life was enriched by his active participation in community and leisure activities. He was once a choir boy and a devoted member of his catholic church, which instilled in him a lifelong love for music. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of a racquetball club, where he made lasting friendships. In his later years he enjoyed 41 years of marriage with his wife Thelma Blanco and later stood by her side through cancer and took care of his brother Ernie after he got sick with Alzheimer's. Robert also was a widow for the duration of his life. Robert found pleasure in the simple joys of life, he was an avid spectator of sports, reveling in the excitement of the World Series, Super Bowl games, the Olympics, and boxing matches. His love for western cowboy shows and "Law & Order" was well-known among family and friends. With a deep appreciation for jazz, he often filled his home with its soulful melodies. His passion for reading and tending to his garden was a testament to his love for knowledge and nature. Robert was a man of kindness and generosity, whose wisdom guided those around him. His neighbors, including Kim, Kyle, the mailman Danny, Bernardo, Petie, and his wife, will remember him as a friendly and caring presence in their lives. His daily routine included trips to the gym, walks in the park, and meticulous yard work—reflecting his commitment to staying active and maintaining a tidy home. Robert Blanco's life was a symphony of love, wisdom, and dedication. He will forever be appreciated, respected, honored, and most importantly, loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A private funeral service will be held on August 1, 2026, at 3 PM @ St. Martha's Church. Then followed by a celebration of life ceremony held at 17044 Mulvane st. La Puente.
