Robert B. Cochrane, affectionately known as “Pop” was born on May 8, 1945, in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, to the late Barbara B. and David W. Cochrane. He departed this life surrounded by the love of family and friends who cherished him dearly. Bob was a man of deep commitment and service, evidenced by his proud tenure in the U.S. Navy Seabees, where he served his country with honor. After graduating from Nether Providence High School, he embarked on a professional journey that spanned decades, leaving an indelible impact in his field. For 28 years, Bob was a dedicated lead manager at Clifton Precision. In parallel, he demonstrated remarkable versatility and work ethic as an operating engineer at Pyramid Construction (H&K) for an impressive 50 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 35 years, Laura B. Cochrane, with whom he shared countless adventures and cherished moments on their many road trips. Together, they found joy in the company of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom they adored and affectionately spoiled. Bob is survived by his devoted brother, Steven D. Cochrane, his stepdaughter Sara E. Galanaugh and her husband Donald, stepson James L. Pickett and his wife Anne, stepson A. Mark Pickett and his wife Melissa, and Pamela A. Kleinz and her husband Bill. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. In recent years, Bob became affectionately known as "The Jewelry Guy," a nickname that encapsulated his generous spirit. He delighted in creating small gifts bags, which he bestowed upon family, friends, and even strangers—mail carriers, delivery drivers, random shoppers, and medical staff—spreading joy and smiles wherever he went. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a graveside committal service to be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Chester Rural Cemetery, located at 412 W. 15th Street, Chester, PA 19013.
