It is with profound sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of RJ Foultz, whose radiant spirit left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Born on October 5, 2013, in Syracuse, NY, RJ departed this world on April 11, 2026, after a courageous battle following a severe seizure and brain bleed. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. RJ was a cherished son to Carole and Jim Buskirk, who brought him into a world where he would come to embody kindness, compassion, and an unwavering zest for life. He was a beloved brother to both his biological and adopted siblings, with whom he shared countless adventures and joyous memories. A seventh-grade honor roll student at Fulton Middle School, RJ was known for his academic diligence and his bright, inquisitive mind. He embraced life with the same fervor he applied to his studies, always eager to learn and grow. RJ was a young soul with a heart as vast as the outdoors he so loved to explore. Whether casting a line on a serene fishing trip or sprinting across the soccer field, RJ found joy in the simple pleasures around him. His summers were filled with laughter and camaraderie at camp, where he forged friendships that would last a lifetime. And no one could rival RJ when it came to his love for pizza—a slice was never safe when RJ was around. Blessed with a smile that could light up any room and striking blue eyes that reflected his gentle spirit, RJ was a beacon of positivity and warmth. His kindness knew no bounds, and he was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. RJ stood firmly against bullying and championed inclusivity, embracing everyone with open arms and an open heart. RJ is predeceased by his grandparents, Terry and Carlos Buskirk, and his Uncle Tony Garza, who undoubtedly welcomed him with love and open arms into the next life. In honoring RJ's life, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing his family to grieve and celebrate the beautiful soul that was RJ in a personal and intimate setting. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the hospital and EMT staff, whose care and compassion provided comfort during RJ's final moments. They are also immensely thankful for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and community members who stood by RJ throughout his journey. Though RJ's time with us was far too short, his impact was immeasurable. He taught us the true meaning of love, acceptance, and resilience. In our hearts, his spirit will forever remain, guiding us with his enduring light. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all who wish to honor RJ's memory to perform acts of kindness in his name, continuing his legacy of love and compassion in the world.
