With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Antonio Lara , a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, and loyal brother, who left this world on April 27th, 2026, at the age of 56. Antonio was born on March 10th, 1970, in the quaint town of Ajo, Arizona, to Mariela Jacott & Antonio Lara Sr . His life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Antonio was known for his boundless compassion and infectious laughter that could light up any room. He was a man of great character, whose humility and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His warmth and sincerity were evident in his every action, and he approached life with a sense of humor and optimism that inspired those around him.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Karla U, who stood by his side as his partner and confidante through all of life’s adventures. Together, they created a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories. Antonio was a proud and devoted father to his four children: Rictchie Lara, Ana Lara , Mario Ponce, and Yanette L Ponce. His love for them was boundless, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and the people they have become.
He also leaves behind his cherished mother, Erlinda, whose love and strength he carried with him throughout his life. Antonio shared a deep bond with his siblings, Alex Lara and Mariela Lara , who will forever hold him in their hearts. As a grandfather, Antonio embraced his role with joy and enthusiasm, relishing every moment spent with his precious grandchild.
Antonio”s life will be celebrated at a service on May 4th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, located at 203 E Washington St. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and to honor the legacy of a man who touched so many lives with his kindness and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Ritchie's memory to a charity close to his heart, ensuring that his spirit of giving continues to benefit others.
Ritchie Hernandez will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in the enduring impact of his love and the many lives he enriched during his time with us. Rest in peace, dear Ritchie.
