In loving memory of Rita Fay Oliver, who passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026, at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with a long illness. Born on October 14, 1951, in Hayward, California, Rita lived a life rich with love, family, and music. Rita was the beloved daughter of Alfred Oliver and Lucille Knowles. She was predeceased by her cherished parents, her brother Al Oliver Jr., her sisters Edna Taylor and Linda Johnson, her Aunt Edith Hopkins, and her son Donald Ray Lutton Jr. Her memory will be forever cherished by those she leaves behind, including her great aunt Navella Button, her son Bobby Wiggins, her daughter Tammy Sanders, and her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who filled her heart with immense joy. Rita is also survived by her niece, Angel Potter, and nephews, Ron and Steve Potter, along with countless other extended family members and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Rita's life was marked by her deep passion for music. She had a remarkable talent for singing and writing, performing at the Grand Ole Opry from a very young age. Her voice and melodies resonated with many, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to hear her perform. Beyond the stage, she found joy and tranquility in fishing, often spending peaceful hours on the water. Rita shared her life and love with Donald Ray Lutton Sr., whom she married in 1966, and later with Larry Wiggins, whom she married in 1972. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them through all of life's moments. In this time of sorrow, Rita's family finds comfort in the words of John 14:1-3: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me… I am going there to prepare a place for you… I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” Rita Fay Oliver will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for her loving spirit, her beautiful music, and her unwavering devotion to her family. May her soul rest in peace, surrounded by heavenly melodies.
