Born on July 30, 1996, in the serene town of Atlanta, Michigan, Rico's life was a beacon of love and resilience. Rico faced the formidable challenge of lung cancer with immense courage and dignity, fighting a silent battle that he ultimately succumbed to. Throughout his journey, Rico remained a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. His infectious smile and compassionate nature touched the hearts of many, and he will be remembered for his unwavering spirit and kindness. Rico was the cherished son of Mary and Jason Sims, who raised him with strong values and a love for life. He found his soulmate in Brelynn Sims, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they built a beautiful life, blessed with their precious daughter, Dena Sims. Rico's devotion to his family was unparalleled, and he took immense pride in being a loving husband and doting father. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Rico's life will be held on August 30, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, located at 2086 Deerway Lane. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Rico are invited to join in remembering the remarkable person he was.
