Ricky Ogden

November 21, 1962 — August 12, 2026

Ricky Ogden, born on November 21, 1962, in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with pneumonia and sepsis. Ricky was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Ricky was the cherished son of Alta Jane Ogden and Lezy Dean Ogden, both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah L. Ogden, whom he married on March 20, 2004, and their beloved daughter, Tracie J. Ogden. Ricky's four sisters, Judy Horne, Janet McDonald, Joyce Salomoni, and Darlyn Rapovy, will forever hold his memory in their hearts. Ricky's early years were spent in Las Vegas, where he attended Rancho High School. A bright and ambitious student, he furthered his education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from DeVry University, followed by two master's degrees from the University of Phoenix. His thirst for knowledge and passion for engineering led him to a fulfilling career. In 1983, Ricky began his professional journey at Hughes Aircraft. His career took him to Palmdale, California, where he joined Northrop as an Instrumentation Engineer in 1986. With unwavering dedication and expertise, he contributed significantly to the field until his retirement in July 2024. Beyond his professional achievements, Ricky was a man of diverse interests and passions. He was an active member of the Elks Club in Lancaster, California, and the Ancient and Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus. His hobbies included car engine repair, fishing, collecting guns, and working on computers. Ricky's hands were never idle, and his heart was always open to those around him. Ricky's warmth, humor, and easygoing nature made him a beloved figure in his community. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel loved and appreciated. His generosity and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character, and he inspired those around him to "pay it forward." A celebration of Ricky's life will be held on October 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Guidos @ the Hangar, located at 4001 Knox Ave., Rosamond, CA 93560.
