In Loving Memory

Ricky George Thomas Sr.
August 16, 1960 — May 7, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Ricky George Thomas Sr., who left this world on May 7, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on August 16, 1960, in the warm and welcoming community of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ricky was a beacon of kindness and generosity, known for his remarkable ability to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Ricky was the cherished son of Beatrice Marie Senegal and Elson George Thomas. Throughout his life, he exemplified the values instilled in him by his parents, who now welcome him into their eternal embrace, along with his siblings Rifford Thomas, Fred Senegal, Patricia Thomas, Doris Bell, and Herman Ross, who predeceased him.
Ricky's legacy is lovingly carried forward by his devoted children: Ricky Thomas Jr., Roxann Thomas, Alicia Thomas, Kaytlyn Thomas, Fantasia Thomas, and Jacob Thomas. He was a proud and doting grandfather to four grandchildren, who were the light of his life and the joy of his heart. He is also survived by his siblings Randy Thomas and Gauillin O’Nora, who shared with him a bond of love and support that only family can provide.
Ricky was a man of many talents, known throughout his community as the go-to person for almost any mechanical issue. With an innate understanding of machines, he had a remarkable gift for diagnosing car troubles with a mere listen to their rumblings. His skills were not confined to the mechanical; he was equally adept at fixing air conditioning units and other household appliances, always ready to assist friends, family, and even strangers in need. Ricky’s generosity knew no bounds, and his willingness to help others was a testament to his character, often putting others' needs before his own.
In addition to his mechanical prowess, Ricky brought people together through his love of cooking. His legendary gumbo and barbecue were more than just meals; they were a celebration of life, love, and community. Friends and family gathered around his table, savoring the flavors and the moments that would turn into treasured memories, forever etched in their hearts.
Ricky's life was a tapestry of kindness, selflessness, and spirit. He touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life he led, grateful for the time we had with such a remarkable man.
A memorial service to honor Ricky's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and tears in remembrance of a truly extraordinary individual. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ricky's memory, continuing his legacy of generosity and care.
Ricky George Thomas Sr. will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Ricky, knowing that your kindness and love have left an indelible mark on the world.
