In Loving Memory

Ricky Dean Britton
December 3, 1964 — May 16, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Ricky Dean Britton, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Ricky departed this world on May 16, 2026, after a courageous battle in hospice, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and resilience. Born on December 3, 1964, in Mansfield, Ohio, Ricky spent his life enriching the lives of those around him with his humor and warmth.
Ricky was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Louise Traxler and his father, as well as his dear sisters, Juanita and Kay Campbell. He is survived by his loving children, Justin (Brittany) Britton and Blair Britton, who were the pride and joy of his life. He leaves behind his adored granddaughters, Elliana and Addilynn Britton, whom he loved to spoil with endless affection and laughter.
Ricky's family extends to his devoted sister, Deb (Ed) Secrist, and his brother, Henry Britton, along with special nieces Angela, Amanda, and Kristina, and great-nieces Katelyn and Audriana. His nephews Nathaniel, Issac, and Josh, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will forever cherish the memories of Ricky's quick wit and playful spirit.
A graduate of Lexington High School in Lexington, Ohio, Ricky was known for his hard work and dedication, having spent many years working at Krane Plumbing and A&E Motors. Outside of work, Ricky's passions lay in the serenity of nature and the joy of family. An avid fisherman, he found solace in the waters of Lake Erie, where he spent countless summers fishing for walleye with his son Justin or nephew Issac. His adventurous spirit also took him to riverboats, where he enjoyed gambling with his mom and nieces, creating memories filled with laughter and love.
Ricky's humor was his hallmark, a gift that he shared with everyone around him. Even in the ICU, he maintained his sharp wit, famously joking with his niece Amanda about calling "Ghostbusters." He had a notorious sweet tooth for Little Debbie snacks, a testament to his love for life's simple pleasures.
The family will gather to honor Ricky's life on May 22, 2026, at 12:20 PM, at Snyder's Funeral Home on Lexington Avenue. The service will be a celebration of Ricky's life, reflecting the joy and laughter he brought to all who knew him.
In this time of mourning, Justin and Blair extend their heartfelt gratitude to their Aunt Deb for her unwavering care and support during their father's final days. Her dedication and love provided comfort and peace to Ricky, and for that, they are eternally grateful.
As we say goodbye to Ricky, we remember a man who lived fully and loved deeply. His legacy will continue to shine through the laughter and joy of his family and friends, who will carry forward his spirit of humor and kindness. Rest in peace, dear Ricky, knowing you are loved beyond measure and missed beyond words.
