Ricky Wayne West

Ricky Wayne West, 70, passed away on July 13, 2026. Ricky was born on December 31, 1955 in Germany to Von Wayne West and Jewel Murlyne West while his father was serving in the United States Army. He was the firstborn of four children. Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Robin West; his children, Joseph Howard "Jay" West, Hannah Ricki West, Logan Ramsey West; his cherished granddaughter Evelyn Jewel West; his father Von Wayne West; his bonus mom, Bobbie West; his brother Dustin West and wife Alese; his sisters, Cheryl Grounds and husband Hank, Vonessa Barker and husband Thad, and his bonus sister, Ricki Ann Olson and husband James; his many beloved cousins with whom he shared lifelong, close-knit relationships; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was proceeded in death by his mother Jewel Murlyne West. While deeply missed here, his family finds comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his mother in Heaven. Music was one of Ricky's greatest joys. He loved playing the guitar and singing, and he and his father Von Wayne spent countless hours making music together and entertaining family and friends, often with other family members joining in. He was especially known among his family and friends for his yearly birthday phone calls, singing "Happy Birthday" to each one. It was a simple but meaningful tradition that brought smiles to so many and will be deeply missed. Ricky loved attending his church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in September of 2022. He followed up his profession of faith by being baptized in the Brazos River. Ricky could be a little rough around the edges, but those who knew and loved him knew his kind, sentimental, and tender heart. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 25, 2026 at Chisholm Trail Church, 7707 CR 1208, Rio Vista, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Chisholm Trail Church in Ricky's memory.
