In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Rickie Edward Ward, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who was born on July 15, 1954, in Osceola, Arkansas. Rickie peacefully departed this world on April 29, 2026, held tenderly in the arms of his loving daughter at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 71 years old. Rickie was the beloved son of the late Richard Edward and Ada Maire (Aycock) Ward, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms in Heaven. He was predeceased by his devoted parents, whose values of love and kindness he carried throughout his life. Rickie leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted daughter, Stephanie (Andrea) Ward of Ripley, Tennessee; his loving sisters, Brenda (Wesley) Griffin of Sheridan, Arkansas, and Lisa (Keith) Gann of Jonesboro, Arkansas; his two adoring grandsons, Justin (Sarah) of Beach Bluff, Tennessee, and Blake (Kassi) Ford of Drummonds, Tennessee; and the lights of his later years, his three great-grandchildren, Holland Ford, Harper Ford, and "Wally" Ford. Rickie found immense joy in his long and fulfilling career as a cable lineman, a profession he dedicated over 30 years to. His work was more than just a job; it was a testament to his commitment to hard work and providing for those he loved. Outside of work, Rickie was a man of simple yet profound pleasures. He had an unwavering passion for sports, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Many a game was watched with bated breath and enthusiastic cheers, often shared with family and friends, his laughter echoing through the room. Rickie was known for his infectious humor and his ability to brighten even the darkest of days. His spirit was full of life, and he had an innate gift for making people laugh, a talent that brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His presence was a beacon of joy, and he made it his mission to spread happiness wherever he went. Above all, Rickie treasured the time spent with his family. Whether it was sharing a meal, celebrating a holiday, or simply enjoying each other's company, he relished every moment. His daughter, Stephanie, was the apple of his eye, and he took great pride in his grandsons and great-grandchildren, whose futures he looked upon with hope and love. Rickie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family. Though he has departed from this world, he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were blessed to know him. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we hold dear the memories of his laughter, his kindness, and the joy he brought into our lives. A celebration of Rickie's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting Rickie's generous spirit and love for life. Rickie Edward Ward's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace and laughter, forever cherished and never forgotten.
