It is with heavy hearts and deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Rickey D Jones, who departed this world on September 14, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on February 8, 1947, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Rick was the beloved son of Claudia Merle Jones and Cora Lee Jones.
Rick's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a steadfast commitment to family. He was the devoted husband of Connie June Jones, with whom he shared 59 joyful years of marriage. United in love on August 3, 1967, Rick and Connie built a nurturing home and raised four wonderful children: Russell D. Jones (wife Taliessa), Rickey D. Jones (wife Rachel), Charles J. Jones (wife Marniece), and Juana L Wilbanks (husband Greg).
A proud veteran, Rick served his country in both the U.S. Army and the Navy, embodying the spirit of dedication and honor. In his community, he was an active member of Christ Gospel Church, where his faith was both a guiding light and a source of strength.
Rick was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for woodworking and fishing, and he cherished the moments spent with his family above all else. Known for his remarkable sense of humor and quick wit, Rick had an unparalleled ability to make those around him smile. His laughter was infectious, and he had a special talent for bringing humor to even the most ordinary moments.
A loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Rick's legacy continues through his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom he held dearly in his heart. He is survived by his grandchildren Krystal Moore (wife Jennifer), Kyrtis Wilbanks, Kayla Wilbanks, and Michael, among others, who will forever remember his warmth and guidance.
Predeceased by six brothers, two sisters, and his cherished great-grandchild Jace Moore, Rick's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved him. Yet, his spirit endures through the countless memories and moments shared with family and friends.
Rick's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and genuine human connection. He had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen and valued, often using humor as a way to express his affection and care. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever carry with them the joyful spirit and warmth he brought into their lives.
