Rickey Dean Mooneyham

Rickey Dean Mooneyham, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, with his devoted wife, Robin, by his side. Born on March 19, 1954, at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, Rick fought a courageous two-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and laughter. Rick was the cherished son of David and Marlene Mooneyham, who predeceased him, along with his sister, Kyna Marie Ingram, his niece, Keesha Mone' Harden, and his previous wife, Yolanda Hernandez/Mooneyham. He is survived by his loving wife, Robin Williams Mooneyham, and his sons, Jesse Lee Mooneyham and Clyde David Mooneyham, who carry forward his spirit of generosity and joy. Rick's legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Adison Rose Mooneyham and Brodi Nathan Mooneyham, who knew him as a gentle, caring grandfather. A man of many talents, Rick was an accomplished outdoorsman, a testament to his love for nature and adventure. Whether skiing, dirt biking, fishing, or hunting, he embraced the great outdoors with enthusiasm and skill. He was an expert mechanic, loved to fix anything, and was renowned for his prowess in axe throwing, winning contests with his sharp aim. His laughter was infectious, and his jokes were a staple of his warm, daily interactions. Rick's career began in the logging industry under the tutelage of his father, where he developed a strong work ethic and a diverse skill set. He later served the City of Madera, contributing to the construction of a new water treatment facility in Yosemite National Park, where he retired after 21 years of dedicated service. Throughout his life, Rick continued to acquire new skills, earning certifications in welding, water treatment, and operating heavy machinery. Rick's personal qualities made him a beacon of light in the lives of those around him. He was kind, patient, and soft-spoken, with an unwavering dedication to living by The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." He woke up happy each day, spreading joy and kindness wherever he went. Animals were naturally drawn to him, sensing his gentle spirit and love for all living things. Rick is also survived by Teresa and Richard Harpham sister, Karmen Chastain niece, Hank Chastain nephew, Paula Oller Steed sister, his nephews Andy and Jamie Oller, Evan Steed, and his niece, April Steed. His aunt and uncle, Shirley and Bob Allen, held a special place in his heart. Rick's extended family includes his stepchildren, Brooke Heikkila, Keith Mason, and Mitchell Williams, and his cherished step-grandchildren, Banyan and Irie Heikkila, and Elizabeth and Isabell Mason.
