Rick Melendez, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 27, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Rick was the cherished son of the late Lydia Garcia and Joe Melendez. Rick was a man whose life was filled with warmth, kindness, and a love for those around him. He was a devoted father to his daughter Ashley Cruz and her husband, Antonio Cruz. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he found immense joy in the company of his grandchildren, Dominique, Madyson, Gyzelle, and Selena. Rick's legacy is further carried on by his great-grandchildren, who were a source of pride and happiness in his later years. Throughout his life, Rick embodied a spirit of resilience and determination. He was known for his gentle demeanor, his infectious smile, and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. Those who had the privilege of knowing Rick will remember his generous heart and his ability to bring laughter and light into any room.
