Richard Thomas Yeager

Richard, born on September 10, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, peacefully departed this world on July 25, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of his family at his home after a short illness. Richard was the beloved son of the late Fred and Maryanne (“Jackie”), and was predeceased by his older brother, Fred. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished family: his devoted wife of nearly 51 years, Camille, who was not only his partner in life but also his greatest confidant and travel companion. Together, they crafted a beautiful life, rich with adventures and filled with the love of family and friends. Richard was a proud father to his son, Cole, and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer. He embraced his role as a grandfather with immense joy and pride, delighting in the company of his grandson, Austin, who was truly the light of his life. A proud veteran, Richard served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1962, achieving the rank of Private First Class. His service took him to Japan for two years, after which he continued to serve in the reserves back home. Richard's commitment to his country was a testament to his unwavering dedication and sense of duty. Richard's passions were as vibrant as his spirit. An avid fisherman, he found peace by the beach, casting his line with his trusty 15-foot surf rod. His love for history led him to become a Civil War reenactor with the Historical Military Impressions troop, where he delighted in bringing the past to life. Richard also had a deep appreciation for antique cars, proudly showcasing his 1955 Ford Crown Victoria and 1968 Pontiac GTO at car shows and events. Known for his natural humor, Richard had the remarkable ability to make those around him laugh with just a glance or a simple comment. His warmth and gentle charisma left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Chandler Hall for their compassionate care during Richard's final days. They also wish to express their sincere thanks to the friends who have offered unwavering support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Richard's memory to the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation, a cause close to his heart. A private ceremony will be held to honor Richard's life, in accordance with his wishes. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life lived fully and a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.
