In Loving Memory of Richard Routzohn (1956-2026)
Richard Routzohn, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on March 16, 2026, just three days after celebrating his 70th birthday. Born on March 13, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, Richard's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the beauty that surrounded him.
Richard was the cherished son of Sondra Richey and Henry Routzohn. He was predeceased by his mother, Sondra, his sons, Jerry and Joshua, and his dear daughter, Aja. His legacy lives on through his devoted wife of 14 years, Sherrie Routzohn, with whom he shared over 30 wonderful years. Sherrie was his confidante, partner, and unwavering support. Richard also leaves behind his loving brother, Scotty, his daughter, Lorinda, and her husband, William, who shared countless cherished moments together.
A proud and doting grandfather, Richard's heart was fullest when surrounded by his ten grandchildren: Mariah (Luke), Makenzie, Madisyn, Micah, Tyler (Kaitlyn), Chase (Autumn), Riley, Jeremy, Marissa, and Jonathon (Olivia). His legacy continued to bloom with the arrival of his nine great-grandchildren: Landon, Luke, Levi, Layton, Aubrianna, Graycen, Aubriella, Braxton, and Jayvon. Each one was a testament to the love and joy he instilled in his family.
Richard found solace and inspiration in the majestic Tennessee mountains, a place he always considered his true home. His love for this breathtaking landscape was mirrored by his unfiltered wit and humor. Richard's no-nonsense approach to life and his sharp, witty remarks left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He made it his mission to ensure his grandchildren knew the depth of his love for them, often through laughter and adventure.
In addition to his family, Richard's life was enriched by his close family friends, Kimberly and Jeremy (Carrie), who stood by his side through life's joys and challenges.
A service to honor and celebrate Richard's life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 1634 Shattuck Street, Lebanon, Ohio, 45036. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice, an organization dear to Richard's heart.
Though Richard's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched with his humor, his love for the mountains, and his unwavering dedication to his family. He will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered.
