Richard Roberson
April 15, 1957 — May 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Roberson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, who departed from this world on May 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on April 15, 1957, in Charleston, WV, Rick lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering love, and a dedication to his family and work.
Rick was the cherished son of Goldie Collins and was preceded in death by his dear sister, Rosie Kay Peterson. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love and family, survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Donna Roberson, who was truly the love of his life. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and four amazing daughters: Brandy Moldenhauer (husband Brent), Elizabeth Truax (husband Winslow), Jessica Wickham (husband Donny), and Rachel Alexan (husband Jason). Rick was a proud and loving grandfather to 16 grandchildren, each of whom he adored deeply.
Rick was deeply devoted to his family, always quick to lend a hand or share his wisdom. His mother, Goldie Collins, and siblings, Theresa Sparks, Mary Ann Guzman, James Roberson, and John Roberson, will forever cherish the memories and moments shared with Rick.
For 34 years, Rick served as a dedicated heavy equipment operator for the Seminole County government. His work ethic and commitment were admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. He was a man of few words, but his integrity and dedication spoke volumes.
Outside of his professional life, Rick was an avid fisherman who found peace and joy by the water. He had a knack for tinkering with anything that had a small engine, and his garage was a sanctuary where he spent countless hours fixing things and watching Nascar. A talented woodworker, Rick crafted small projects that became cherished keepsakes for his family.
Rick's passion for life was evident in the vacations and camping trips he took with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His quiet demeanor and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Rick's life will take place on May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hollywood Cemetery, located at 1031 S. Carpenter Street, Orange City, FL 32763. Family, friends, and all whose lives Rick touched are invited to gather and honor the remarkable man who meant so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rick's memory to support lung cancer research, ensuring his courageous battle contributes to a brighter future for others.
Rick Roberson will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
