Richard "Rick" Everett

Richard "Rick" Everett, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on March 26, 1962, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Rick's life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to those around him. Rick was blessed with a nurturing family, the cherished son of Richard and Shirley Everett. He joins them and his sister, Marcy Richards, in rest. Rick's legacy continues through his devoted wife, Leisa Brewer-Everett, with whom he shared a beautiful life and enduring love story, beginning with their first date on August 8, 1993, and culminating in marriage on November 29, 2001, in Katy, Texas. Rick's pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind his daughter Tiffany-Anne King and her husband Justin; his sons Tristen and Troy Everett; and his adored grandchildren, Kate King, and Sophia and Bohdi Everett. Rick cherished his role as a grandfather and took immense pleasure in their accomplishments, from dance and tennis to volleyball, baseball, and soccer. He also leaves behind his loving nieces, Dana Schenhoffer and her husband Chris, Lisa and her wife Sara Del Cuore, and Jessica Bates, as well as his sister-in-law, Debbie Webb, and her husband John. Rick graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 1980 and pursued higher education with vigor, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wyoming in 1983 and a Master's Degree in International Management from the University of Denver. His career and personal life took him to various places, including Cheyenne, Denver, Seattle, and Houston, enriching his experiences and shaping the person he became. A man of varied interests, Rick loved his "fur babies," from Standard poodles to rescue cats. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for hiking, fly fishing, and deep-sea fishing. Rick was also an avid runner, tennis player, and a devoted fan of baseball, football, and college basketball. Together with Leisa, he treasured their Friday date nights, often enjoying Mexican cuisine. Rick's warmth and wisdom were felt by all who knew him. He had an incredible ability to mentor and encourage others, always ready to share his knowledge and experiences. His intelligence was matched by his kindness and soft-heartedness. A true gentleman, Rick was known for small acts of chivalry, such as never letting his wife open a door or carry a bag. He had a zest for life that included a passion for travel and music, exploring the world with numerous overseas trips and travels across the U.S. Rick's greatest joy, however, was bringing laughter and joy to those around him. A service to celebrate Rick's life will be held at 2:00 PM on August 21, 2026, at Schmidt Funeral Home. Rick's family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to a charity of your choice. Rick Everett's life was a testament to love, kindness, and joy. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the laughter he brought will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
