Richard “Richie Cas” Carosella, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and camaraderie. Born on January 29, 1959, in Southwest Philadelphia, Richie was the cherished son of the late John and Eleanor Carosella. Richie grew up in a close-knit family and was the dear brother of Paul D. Carosella of Chester Springs, PA. He was a proud graduate of Lansdown-Aidan High School, Class of 1977, where he began forming friendships that would last a lifetime. Richie's career was spent in dedicated service to the community, as he worked in highway maintenance for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. His steadfast commitment over more than two decades earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, culminating in a well-deserved retirement. A lover of sports especially the Philadelphia Phillies, Richie was deeply involved with various baseball clubs and teams for many years, eventually lending his expertise as an umpire with the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (P.I.A.A.). His passion for the game was evident in every call he made on the field. Richie's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. He delighted in cooking Italian dishes reminiscent of his mother's cherished recipes, savoring each bite with the joy of shared memories. He also had a zest for adventure, traveling with friends on golfing excursions that brought him great joy and countless stories. His pride and joy was his Firebird, which he lovingly maintained, often accompanied by his faithful canine companion, Benji, with the stereo echoing their bond. Above all, Richie will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and the radiant smile that could light up any room. His ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him was a gift treasured by all who knew him. Richie had a unique talent for making friends feel like family, leaving behind countless cherished memories. As we celebrate Richie's life, we remember the laughter, warmth, and friendship he brought to the world.
