Richard Newsome Jr

April 12, 1973 — August 9, 2026

With heavy hearts, we honor the life of Richard Newsome Jr, lovingly known as Rich, who was born on April 12, 1973, in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Rich's journey was marked by laughter, love, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Rich's life was deeply rooted in family and community. He was the beloved son of Richard Newsome Sr and Judy Newsome. Rich is now reunited with his mother, Judy, and his cherished family member, Lois Dishon, in eternal rest. His legacy continues through his father, Richard Newsome Sr; his sisters, Lynda Newsome-Buck and Lavera Lear; his son, Tyler Newsome; and his daughter, Amber Newsome. Rich also leaves behind a blended family, each of whom held a special place in his heart: stepson Kyle Primeaux, along with Jessica Lechart and Oakley Primeaux; stepson Ryan Primeaux, along with Danniella McCarthy and Sophia Primeaux, Sylas Primeaux, Sullivan Primeaux; and stepson Bradford Primeaux, Maddie Anders, and Maisie Primeaux. Rich spent his career as a mechanic, a role he embraced not only professionally but also as a way to extend his generous spirit to friends and family. His hands were rarely idle, always ready to fix, build, or create. A true craftsman, Rich was as comfortable under the hood of a car as he was building something with his own hands. Beyond his work, Rich's heart was filled with passions that brought him joy. He was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Ravens, cheering them on with fervor. His love for motorcycles provided him with a sense of freedom and adventure, often hitting the open road with his trademark enthusiasm. Rich's sense of humor was legendary among those who knew him. His wit could light up a room, bringing smiles and laughter to all around him. Yet, it was his kindness and generosity that truly defined him. Rich had a natural instinct to help others, offering his time and talents without a moment's hesitation. A service to celebrate Rich's life will be held on August 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Highview. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Rich's memory may do so by contributing to the charity of their choice. Rich Newsome Jr's life was a testament to the power of humor, kindness, and dedication. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
