It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Richard L. Skinner Jr. on March 22, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on August 10, 1959, in Petaluma, Richard was a beacon of strength, creativity, and love to all who knew him. Richard was the beloved son of the late Richard L. Skinner Sr., with whom he shared a deep bond and a love for craftsmanship that was evident throughout his life. Richard’s legacy continues through his devoted partner, Darlene Nutter, who walked beside him in love and companionship. A proud father, Richard leaves behind his son, Richard L. Skinner III, and daughter-in-law Teresa, who blessed him with two cherished grandchildren. These grandchildren were the light of his life, and he relished every moment spent with them, sharing stories and passing on his vast knowledge and life lessons. Richard was a dedicated and loving brother to John Skinner, who, along with his wife Cindy and their son Blake, held a special place in Richard’s heart. The familial bonds extended to his dear cousins Don, Monica, and Donald Chaney, as well as his beloved cousins Rhonda, Jacob, and Kirsten Liebig, who were like siblings to him. As the sole owner of RL Skinner Drywall, Richard was not only a respected businessman but also a mentor and friend to many in the community. His commitment to quality and excellence in his work was unwavering and left an indelible mark on all those he served. Outside of his professional endeavors, Richard had a passion for building engines and hot rods. This hobby was more than just a pastime; it was an expression of his innovative spirit and his love for the artistry of mechanics. He spent countless hours in his garage, hands covered in grease, bringing old engines back to life and crafting beautiful hot rods that were the envy of enthusiasts far and wide. We invite all who knew and loved Richard to join us in celebrating his life on August 8, 2026. The service will be held at The Brick Hall, located at 16374 Main St, Lower Lake, CA, at 11:00 AM. It will be a time to share stories, reflect on the impact Richard had on all our lives, and find solace in the community of those who loved him. Richard L. Skinner Jr. was a man of integrity, warmth, and kindness. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
