It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Lee York, affectionately known as "Rick," on August 1, 2026. Rick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Born on April 8, 1969, in Anaheim, California spent the last 25 years in Haskell, Arkansas, Rick was the cherished son of the late Anita and Cecil “Gene” York. His life was a testament to joy, family, and the simple pleasures that he never took for granted. Rick’s unexpected departure serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life, capturing the essence of the phrase, "In the blink of an eye, everything can change." Rick was a devoted husband to his wife Betty, with whom he shared nearly 35 beautiful years of marriage. Their bond was an inspiring journey of love, partnership, and mutual respect. Together, they built a family rooted in love and laughter, raising four wonderful children: daughters Karrilynn, Andreah, Shawnte, and son Joshua. Rick’s legacy lives on through his 12 beloved grandchildren—Amelia, Jaxon, Noah, Isabella, Mia, Skylar, Donovan, Brelee, Micah, Elijah, Isaiah, and Josephiah—and his great-grandchild, who brought him immense joy and pride. He also leaves behind his older siblings, Sandi and Scott, and a host of friends who cherished his company and spirit. In the community of Haskell and Benton, Rick was known for his gentle demeanor and generous heart. His love for music was profound, often found playing his guitar or attending Vinyl-con with his granddaughter Isabella. Watching Professional wrestling on tv and sharing his passion for wrestling with his grandkids Noah and Isabella, as he was a wrestler in the 1990’s Rick relished the moments spent with his brother Scott on various projects and took great pleasure in the simple joys of life, like cooking biscuits and gravy on Sunday mornings and savoring time outdoors. Rick’s family shares a heartfelt message: "I love you, Dad. You were our best friend, my favorite person in the whole world! Our world is a little shattered right now; everyone is lost without you. But thanks to all of your love and lessons, we will be okay. And whoever gets out of line, scare them straight, - 🩵-Larry Rick’s sudden departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit and the memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.. Rick was without a doubt one of a kind person that left a mark on anyone who was lucky enough to have him, this universe will never have the luxury of having another person like him!
