Richard L. Dean
May 9, 1932 — March 6, 2026
Richard L. Dean, a devoted family man and respected community member, peacefully passed away on the morning of March 6, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on May 9, 1932, in the vibrant city of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Richard was the beloved son of Lloyd and Delma Dean.
Richard's journey was marked by a deep sense of duty and love. His early years were profoundly shaped by his service in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954, where he held the rank of Supervisor as an Aviation Store Keeper. It was during this time that Richard met the love of his life, Barbara Smith. Their story is one of destiny and devotion; after their very first date, Richard confidently told Barbara that he intended to marry her. True to his word, they shared 45 glorious years together, raising a family of five transcendent children. Barbara, his loving wife, preceded him in death, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Richard's professional life was a testament to his dedication and work ethic. For 40 years, he was a steadfast employee at Wheaton Plastics Containers, where his colleagues and friends admired his commitment and integrity. His professional accomplishments were matched by his active involvement in the community. A proud member of Masonic Lodge #255 in Linwood, NJ, Richard's contributions to his community were both meaningful and enduring.
Though his beloved son Timothy also predeceased him, Richard's spirit lives on through his surviving children: Richard (Elizabeth) Dean, Ronald (Leslie) Dean, Emily Dean, and Brian (Lorraine) Dean. His legacy is further carried by his ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will forever hold his memory close, guided by the wisdom and kindness he imparted.
Richard's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, service, and community. He touched the hearts of all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on the world around him. His warm presence, gentle humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
As we celebrate Richard's remarkable life, we are reminded of the profound impact one person can have. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends for generations to come. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Barbara and Timothy, forever cradled in the embrace of those who loved him dearly.
