It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Hernandez, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on September 3,2026. Born on May 30, 1964, in Lubbock, Texas, Richard was the cherished son of the late Macario and Juanita Perez Hernandez. Richard was a proud graduate of Estacado High School, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with kindness, dedication, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew him. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. A devoted sports fan, Richard found joy in cheering for his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, and he could often be found passionately discussing the latest game or match. Wrestling also held a special place in his heart, and he never missed a chance to watch WWE. Richard was predeceased by his loving parents and siblings, Joe, Mack, Tony, and Dora Hernandez, Guadalupe H.Rangel and brother in laws Stan McCormick, Victor Rangel, Prudencio Subia Jr. and nieces Amie Subia and Nelly Hernandez. He is survived by his siblings, Gloria H. Subia, Olga H. McCormick, Maria J. Rangel, and Jesse P. Hernandez and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory and the enduring love he shared with them. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Richard's life at a service on September 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 1120 52nd. It will be a time to remember the beautiful life he lived and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Richard's memory may consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, reflecting the generous spirit with which he lived his life. Richard's gentle soul and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of his family and the many lives he touched.
