It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Ferry, who departed this world on December 6, 2025, at the age of 67. Rick was born on January 13, 1958, in the charming town of Chagrin Falls, where he spent his formative years surrounded by the love of his parents, Edwin and Judith Ferry. Rick's journey through life was marked by laughter, warmth, and an indomitable spirit. He graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in the class of 1976, forming friendships that would last a lifetime. Known for his quick wit and ever-present smile, Rick had a remarkable ability to lighten even the heaviest of moods with a well-timed joke or a kind word. A lifelong Cleveland Browns loyalist, Rick never missed a Sunday game, his unwavering support for his team a testament to his steadfast nature. Beyond his love for football, Rick found solace and joy in the great outdoors, where he spent many peaceful hours fishing and appreciating the beauty of nature. Rick was predeceased by his beloved mother, Judith Ferry, and leaves behind his cherished father, Edwin Ferry, and his devoted sister, Kimberly Ottman. Their love and support were constants in his life, offering him strength and comfort through all of life's challenges. Throughout his life, Rick faced many battles, the most difficult being his long struggle with alcoholism. Despite this, he never ceased to find joy in the world around him, and he found unwavering support in his lifelong friend, Frank Brett. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Frank, whose steadfast encouragement and friendship never wavered, even during Rick's darkest hours. A service in Rick's honor will be held on June 6, 2026, at 11:00. Friends and family will gather to scatter his ashes, a final farewell to a man who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. As we remember Rick, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives—the laughter, the love, and the unwavering loyalty to those he held dear. Though he faced many challenges, Rick's spirit remained unbroken, and his memory will forever be a beacon of light and laughter in our hearts.
