With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Churchwell, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on April 3, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on January 13, 1985, in the close-knit community of Clifton, Tennessee, Richard was a beacon of warmth and compassion, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories.
Richard was the cherished son of Victor and Yvonne Churchwell, whose nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped him into the remarkable person he became. He grew up alongside his siblings, forming bonds that only strengthened over time. Richard is survived by his brothers, Broderick (Kia) Churchwell and Terrance (Nikitia) Churchwell, and his sisters, Candice Churchwell and Monica Churchwell. He was a devoted uncle to a host of nieces and nephews who adored his playful spirit and his ability to make every moment with them special.
Throughout his life, Richard embodied the values of kindness, integrity, and generosity. His laughter was infectious, his heart was open, and his presence was a gift to all who knew him. Whether it was lending a helping hand to a neighbor or sharing a heartfelt conversation with a friend, Richard always found ways to touch the lives of those around him.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held on April 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Waynesboro, Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to gather at 1005 Natruial Rd, Waynesboro, TN 38485, to honor and remember Richard, sharing stories and memories that highlight the profound impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Richard's legacy will live on in the lives he touched. His love, laughter, and kindness will forever be remembered and cherished by all who were privileged to share in his journey. As we say goodbye, we hold Richard close in our hearts, grateful for the time we had with such a remarkable soul.
