Richard C. Peterson, Jr.

Richard C. Peterson, Jr., an extraordinary man whose life was a testament to love, generosity, and adventure, passed away on October 4, 2026. Born on April 18, 1963, in St. Louis, MO, Rick lived a life full of joy and dedication to his family, friends, and community. Rick was the beloved son of Richard C. Peterson, Sr. and the late Linda R. Pawluk. He shared a special bond with his father Richard, and his sister Elisabeth, who survives him. Rick was a devoted partner to Michele, his lifelong friend and the mother of his three children. Over their 40 years together, Rick and Michele built a home filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect. Together, they raised three incredible children: Amanda, Andrew, and Natalie, who were the pride and joy of his life. A graduate of Webster Groves High School in 1961, Rick was a proud Skatesman and an active member of the WG Hockey Board, a legacy passed down from his father. His passion for giving back extended to his involvement with the Webster Groves Skatesman Alumni Association and his dedication as an Eagle Scout to the Boy Scouts of America. Rick was also a fervent advocate for the underserved through his work with the Saint Vincent de Paul foundation. Rick's heart was as vast as the mountains he loved to explore. He found peace and joy in the great outdoors, whether riding his bike, attending live music events, or simply spending quality time with his beloved children and grandchildren—Rowan, Daxton, and Lennon. Known for his warm heart and megawatt smile, Rick never met a stranger. His dynamic personality and genuine care for others left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Throughout his life, Rick consistently put others' needs before his own, giving back to his community in more ways than one. His legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire those who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Rick's memory. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out during this time, offering love and support in both big and small ways. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rick's memory to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, a cause close to his heart. Rick's life was a beautiful symphony of love, laughter, and service. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love by all who had the fortune to know him.
