In Loving Memory

Richard branham
November 5, 1989 — April 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Richard Branham, who left this world on April 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 5, 1989, in Wise, Virginia, Richard's journey through life, though too short, was filled with laughter, love, and an indomitable spirit that touched all who knew him.
Richard was born to Linda Morgan and the late John Morgan, and he grew up surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Wise, Virginia. As a young boy, Richard discovered a love for fishing, spending countless hours by the water's edge, where he found peace and joy. His passion for fishing was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. Richard had the rare gift of making everyone around him feel happy and loved, always ready with a joke or a smile to brighten the darkest days.
A graduate of high school, Richard faced life with determination and resilience, even as he navigated the challenges of being disabled. Though he did not have children of his own, he cherished the time spent with his three sisters and his mother, Linda, who survive him. Richard was predeceased by his father, John, his Uncle Joe, and his cherished grandmother, known affectionately as Mamaw. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, guiding him with their love and wisdom.
Richard was not a member of any organizations, but he was an honorary member of the hearts of those who knew him, a testament to the love and laughter he brought into the world. He was a man of simple pleasures, who found joy in the company of friends and the serenity of nature.
A service to honor Richard's life will be held on April 8, 2026, at 12:24 PM at Sturgell's Funeral Home, located at 156 Old Hurricane Road. It will be a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of a man who left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
Though Richard faced many challenges, his ability to laugh and make others happy was his greatest gift, one that will be remembered and cherished by all who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen not to designate a donation organization, as Richard's legacy is best honored through acts of kindness and joy, the qualities he embodied so beautifully.
Richard Branham's life was a testament to the power of love and laughter, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, a guiding light that will never dim.
