Richard Auclair, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 3, 2026, after a joyful day spent with family. Born on February 11, 1947, in Nashua, New Hampshire, Richard was the cherished son of Aimee and Laura Rose (Kerouac). He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Alice, and his brother Donald, who undoubtedly greeted him with love on the other side.
Richard's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the profound joy of family. He was a man who found his peace on the water, casting his line and waiting patiently in the stillness of nature. Fishing was not just a pastime, but a spiritual practice, a way to connect with the world around him and find solace in the gentle rhythms of the river.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Ione (Bucholz), whose partnership was a beacon of love and strength. Together, they built a family full of warmth and laughter. Richard is survived by his sons, Mark Kueger (Nicole), Rick Tarbox, Shane (Margaret), and William (Dawn). He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Proudly, he was always eager to share stories of their accomplishments and adventures.
Richard's quiet demeanor belied a deep affection for his family and friends. He cherished every gathering, every shared meal, and every story told. His sisters, Patricia Duval and Jacqueline Chouinard, along with numerous nieces and nephews, were treasured companions throughout his journey.
In honoring Richard's life, his family invites those who knew him to celebrate his memory in their own way. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, allowing all who loved him to come together, share memories, and find comfort in each other’s company.
