Richard Alwyn Crow, a beloved husband, father, brother, and papaw, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at the age of 68. Rick was born on January 10, 1958, in Ravenswood, WV, to Elmer and Dorothy Crow. Growing up in Ravenswood, Rick was surrounded by family, learning the values of hard work, kindness, and compassion that he carried throughout his life. He graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1976. Rick moved to Hampton, VA in the summer of 1978. Rick met his future wife Sharon at church in 1978 and they were later married October 6, 1979. A marriage that lasted for over 46 years. Rick and Sharon had one daughter, Michelle Rae. Rick's greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his beloved daughter Michelle Reavis and her husband Chris, and his adored granddaughters, Hailie Rae Kidd and Sophia Louise Reavis, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy, Elmer (Marty), and Timmy (Bonita), and his sisters, Debbie Louden and Susan Somerville, along with numerous nieces and nephews who all held a special place in his heart. Rick was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Charlie and Fred Crow, and his sister Mary Kamensky. Though their loss was profound, Richard found solace in the cherished memories and the enduring love they shared. A man with a gentle spirit and a generous heart, Richard touched the lives of many. He was known for his warm smile, his quick wit, and his unwavering dedication to helping others. He had a passion for community service and spent countless hours volunteering at local organizations, always striving to make the world a better place. A service to celebrate Richard's remarkable life will be held on July 31, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Sharon Baptist Church, located at 2625 N Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666. Family, friends, and all whose lives Richard touched are warmly invited to attend as we honor and remember a truly extraordinary man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Richard's generous and caring nature. Richard Alwyn Crow leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his loved ones and that his presence will forever be felt in our lives.
