Richard Alan Taylor

January 18, 1962 — May 3, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Alan Taylor, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Rick passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on January 18, 1962, in the charming town of Rome, Georgia, Rick was the cherished son of the late Verne E. Taylor and Elizabeth Sparks Pollard. Rick's journey through life was marked by enduring love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community. He shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Jill, whom he married on September 17, 1983, at the family church in Farmington, Wisconsin. Together, they navigated 42 years of marriage, imparting their love and values to their two wonderful children, Kimberly (CJ) Carter and Matthew Taylor (Chelse). A dedicated and loving grandfather, Rick's heart was full with the joy brought by his six grandchildren: Zeke, Alex, Jasmine, Sophie, Daizy Jo, and Ivy Rose. Though Rick's life was cut short, his legacy endures through the indelible impact he had on those around him. Rick's passion for life extended beyond his family. After graduating high school, he pursued an advanced degree in CNC Machining from St. Paul Technical Vocational Institute, a field where he found great satisfaction. As a CNC Operator at Wilson Tool International in Hugo, Minnesota, Rick dedicated 25 years of hard work before retiring to explore the world with Jill. Even in retirement, his commitment to excellence led him to continue working at G & K Machining. An active and cherished member of the SNO72CLUB and the Minnesota Deaf Campers, Rick's presence was always felt. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his hobbies; he was an avid snowmobiler, an enthusiastic camper, and a passionate ATV trail rider. His adventures were always made more special by the company of his family and friends. Those who knew Rick will remember him for his quick wit, warm smile, and boundless generosity. A hard worker with an eye for detail, Rick was always the first to lend a helping hand, embodying kindness and compassion in every interaction. His genuine spirit and selflessness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Rick is predeceased by his loving parents, Verne and Elizabeth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill; his two children, Kimberly and Matthew; and his treasured grandchildren, each of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. As we say goodbye to Rick, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, adventure, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. In honoring his memory, we find solace in the many beautiful moments shared and the countless lives he enriched. A celebration of Rick's life will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible man who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to organizations close to Rick's heart, supporting outdoor activities and community service. Rick will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return. May he rest in peace, embraced by the tranquility of the home he cherished.
