It is with heavy hearts and profound admiration that we announce the passing of Richard Alan Hatcher Sr, who left this world peacefully in his sleep on July 25, 2026, after valiantly facing health challenges. Born on August 26, 1964, in Long Beach, California, Richard graced this world with his presence for nearly 62 years, leaving a lasting legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. Richard was the beloved son of the late Kathleen Andreasen and her husband, whose memory he cherished deeply. He is now reunited with them in eternal rest. Richard is survived by his loving brothers, Gary, Kelly, and John, who stood by him through life's journey. He also leaves behind his devoted sons, Richard Hatcher Jr and Chad Hatcher, who will carry forward his legacy of love and perseverance. Richard's heart was filled with immense pride and joy for his family, especially his eight cherished grandchildren: Christina, Mekenzee, Jasmine, Mariana, Gabrielle, Zeke, Azariah, and Junior Alan (Lil g). He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Eliza and Liliana, with another soon to join the family. Richard's love and warmth will continue to guide them from above. A proud graduate of Cyprus High School, Richard furthered his education at Salt Lake Community College. He dedicated much of his career to the restaurant service industry, where he honed his skills as a chef, server, and manager, bringing joy to countless patrons with his culinary talents. Later, he extended his hard-working spirit to help manage a print shop, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm. Richard's love for life was infectious, and he found joy in the simple pleasures. From casting a line on a fishing trip to exploring the great outdoors, his love for adventure was matched only by his passion for rock 'n' roll, movies, and the colorful world of SpongeBob. A gifted artist, Richard expressed himself through drawing and was known to captivate audiences with his guitar playing. His personal qualities of hard work, independence, and unwavering support for those around him defined his character. Richard was always there for anyone in need, offering a respectful and kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he showered them with love and encouragement, instilling in them the values of perseverance and care. A service to honor and celebrate Richard's life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM. As we gather to remember the remarkable man he was, we take comfort in knowing that he is forever in our hearts, watching over us with love and pride. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Richard's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
