Richard A Rejman

May 30, 1936 — May 21, 2026

Richard A. Rejman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on May 21, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 30, 1936, Richard lived a life full of love, adventure, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. Richard was the beloved son of Sylvester and Lucille Rejman, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity that he would carry throughout his life. He graduated from DePaul High School in Chicago in 1954 and went on to pursue higher education at Northwestern University, graduating in 1960. His sense of duty and honor led him to serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956, an experience that he held in high regard and spoke of with pride. In 1962, Richard married the love of his life, Christine, and together they built a beautiful family. They shared a deep and abiding love for 58 years until Christine's passing. Richard is now reunited with her and their beloved daughter, Allison, in eternal peace. Richard was a dedicated employee of Standard Oil, where he worked diligently for 34 years, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional achievements, Richard was a man of deep faith and service. For 20 years, he served as a lectern at St. Mary's Church in Elgin, offering his voice and spirit to the community he cherished. He was also an active member of the Schaumburg Jaycees and the Scottish Society, where he formed lasting friendships. A man of many passions, Richard was a champion speed boater in his youth, a testament to his adventurous spirit. Throughout his adult life, he found joy on the greens as an avid golfer, holding a cherished tee time at Bartlett Hills for 40 years. His love for the game was matched only by the camaraderie he shared with his fellow golfers. Richard’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a loving and devoted father to his sons Courtney (Elizabeth), Blake (Christine), and Todd. His legacy lives on in his eight grandchildren—Connor, Dillion, Jared, Mallory, Austin, and Ella—who were the light of his life and the pride of his heart. In honoring Richard’s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Auberge Memory Care in Lake Zurich for their dedicated and loving care over the past 18 months. Richard's warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever be a blessing to his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard’s memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and love for all.
