Richard A Brown

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard A. Brown, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, on August 1, 2026. Richard was born on September 12, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, to Frank Brown Jr. and Marzella Brown. He passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Richard grew up in Dayton, where he graduated from Dunbar High School in 1979. An avid football player during his high school years, he carried this passion for the sport throughout his life, becoming a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Ohio State Buckeyes. After high school, Richard honorably served his country in the Air Force before transitioning to a successful career. He dedicated 30 years of his life to working as a supervisor and manager at Morton Salt/Rohm and Haas, before retiring to enjoy his well-earned leisure time. In 1988, Richard married the love of his life, Robin Davis, and together they spent 25 wonderful years building a home filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his two sons, Frank Brown III and Maurice A. Brown, who embody his spirit and strength. Richard was a proud grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren: Dontee, Marshawn, Aunye, Apollo, and Athena, who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Frank Brown Jr. and Marzella Brown, and his beloved sister, Princess M. Brown. Despite these losses, he found solace and community at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he attended services for more than half of his life, finding comfort in his faith and fellowship. Richard's hobbies reflected his zest for life. He was an "every man's man," who enjoyed playing golf, basketball, and, in his later years, took up bowling. His life was defined not only by his career and hobbies but also by his commitment to his family and community. A funeral service to honor Richard's life will be held on August 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the House of Wheat Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the End Alz Association, reflecting Richard's compassionate spirit and desire to make a difference. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at BayCare Hospital in Tampa, Florida, for their exceptional care and support during Richard's final days. Richard A. Brown will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for life, and the countless lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
