It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Rhonda Joyce Ruano Soto, who peacefully left this world on May 2, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family after bravely enduring a long battle with illness and medical complications. Born on February 23, 1957, in the Northern Virginia area, Rhonda brought light and warmth to everyone she encountered throughout her 69 years.
Rhonda was the cherished daughter of Harry and Betty Ridgeway, whose memories she now joins in eternity. She was a devoted wife to Anuncio Soto, with whom she shared over 20 years of companionship and love. Her legacy continues through her adored daughter, Amanda Ruano, and her beloved stepchildren, Ana Bessie and Julian Soto. Rhonda also leaves behind two treasured grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
A proud alumna of J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, Virginia, Rhonda graduated in 1975, carrying forward the values of hard work and dedication that would define her career. Her professional journey was marked by over four decades of loyal service to the U.S. Federal Government, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Rhonda's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of a gentle spirit. She was known for her unwavering love for her family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand or a compassionate ear. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, where laughter was a frequent guest, and love was ever-present.
One of Rhonda's greatest joys was traveling to Ocean City, Maryland, a place she held dear and visited annually with those closest to her. These cherished trips were filled with laughter, sunshine, and the creation of countless memories that will be held in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
In honoring Rhonda's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and bid farewell to a remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and generosity.
