Rhonda (Clark) Pate

December 11, 1958 — May 22, 2026

It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the unexpected passing of Rhonda (Clark) Pate, who left this world peacefully in her sleep on May 22, 2026, at the age of 67. Rhonda was born on December 11, 1958, in Bloomington, Indiana, into the warm embrace of her parents, Kenneth and Edith Clark. Those who knew Rhonda will remember her as a beacon of kindness and joy, someone who possessed a smile that could light up any room and a heart that was always open to others. She was predeceased by her cherished grandparents, William and Ruth Clark, and Harvey and Mabel Beck, who surely welcomed her with open arms as she joined them. A proud alumna of Bloomington High School North, class of 1978, Rhonda exemplified the spirit of lifelong learning by returning to school later in life. In 2009, she earned her Associate's Degree in Accounting from Ivy Tech, a testament to her determination and love for knowledge. Rhonda's career path was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She began her professional journey at her family's business, Step Saver, where she worked until it was sold in 1989. Her career then led her to Bloomington/Hoosier Liquors and later Big Red Liquors, where she dedicated many years until 2023. Rhonda found a final professional home as a medical receptionist with IU Health Primary Care Nashville, where she worked until her retirement in 2025. Rhonda's passions extended beyond her professional life, as she delighted in tending to her vegetable garden with her beloved father, Kenny. She found immense joy in sharing the fruits of her labor with neighbors at the family’s roadside stand. Her love for the water was well-known; she cherished lake days at Lake Lemon and annual vacations to Daytona Beach Shores, where the ocean's embrace brought her peace and happiness. However, it was her family who remained the center of her universe. Rhonda was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters, Randi (Josh) Naylor and Renay (Kaylee) Myers, and an adoring "Mamaw" to her grandchildren, Carly and Jake Naylor, Lynnex Myers, and soon-to-arrive Sutton Myers. Her family was her greatest joy, and she relished every moment spent with them. Rhonda is also survived by her siblings, Pam (Frank) Barker and Kevin Clark, her in-laws Wayne and Donna Anderson, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and will forever cherish the memories they shared. A celebration of Rhonda’s life will be held on May 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Pleasant View Cemetery, located at 7710 E Anderson Road, Unionville, IN 47468. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor a woman whose legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Rhonda’s memory to local community gardens or charities supporting education for women, causes dear to her heart. Rhonda's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and the simple joys in life. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
