Born on March 15, 1964, in Knoxville, Rhon brought joy and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He passed from this life on August 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, innovation, and kindness. Rhon was the beloved son of Tom Pannell and Terri Pannell Beaudrot, who, along with his step-father Tom Beaudrot, nurtured his innate curiosity and passion for learning. He was predeceased by his step-mother, Jean Pannell, whose memory he cherished deeply. His life was richly blessed by the presence of his life partner, Linda Stallings Hughes, with whom he shared 13 beautiful years filled with love and companionship. A devoted father, Rhon is survived by his son, Christopher Pannell, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind his mother, Terri, his father, Tom, his brothers, Allen Pannell and Skip Connor, and his sisters, Lynn and Jennifer. he was an uncle to Melissa Pannell (Matt), Nicholas Pannell and Jessica Pannell. He also had one great-niece, Melissa’s daughter, Harper Jones. In 2004, Rhon embarked on a groundbreaking journey in the business world by founding a medical equipment company that has since become a nationwide provider of ventilation rentals, dialysis rentals, and biomedical services. His work was dedicated to improving the quality of life for home patients, and his innovative business models have left an indelible mark on the industry. Rhon was a man of many passions. He loved capturing the beauty of God's creations through photography, particularly sunrises, sunsets, wildlife, and weather phenomena. His dream car was his pride and joy, which he loved to hot-rod around town. Known for his quick wit and generous spirit, Rhon never met a stranger. He was deeply committed to supporting rising entrepreneurs, often sharing his experiences and encouraging them to chase their dreams. His beautiful smile and great sense of humor were constants in the lives of those who knew him. He was a generous and charitable individual, whose impact will be felt for generations to come. In accordance with his family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. A celebration of Rhon’s life is planned for a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Rhon Pannell, Sr. Rhon's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and determination. He touched countless lives, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
